Board Connection: For Non-Profits

Nonprofit organizations consistently identify one of their most crucial needs as finding and retaining sufficient numbers of board members with appropriate skills, interest and passion for nonprofit service. At the same time, community members seek meaningful opportunities for service experiences. Volunteer Mid-South addresses the needs of both through Board Connection -- a service which connects community members with organizations with board needs.

What Board Connection can do for you:

·    Develop the skills needed to cultivate and orient new board members

·    Provide access to a broader pool of trained and interested individuals

·    Supplement your current board development activities and strengthen your volunteer leadership

How Board Connection works:

Contact Board Connection to register for this occasional training (trainings are only held with for a full class), then submit a $100 participation fee for your organization’s training with Board Connection. 

You’ll receive:

·     One required three-hour training session and supplementary materials for two organization representatives (typically the Executive Director and Board President). Training topics will include Board Connection matching assistance, discussion of board roles and responsibilities, and board development process. 

·      Additional guides and resources to assist in building your board.
