Become
a Sponsoring Agency

As the AmeriCorps*VISTA Intermediary for the
Mid-South region, Volunteer Mid-South helps local
nonprofits fully utilize VISTA resources. The goals of
VISTA at Volunteer Mid-South and Sub-recipients sites
are:
· Infrastructure Development
· Human Resource Development
· Financial Resource Development
· Community Partnership Development
Each VISTA member has his/her individual Volunteer
Assignment Description (VAD) including one or more of
these goals and specific activities associated with each
goal, as appropriate to that agency’s needs. Once your
concept paper has been accepted, we'll help you to
develop the VAD for your VISTA member. The outcome
envisioned by the VAD must in some way be sustainable
without the member’s efforts after his term of service
is complete. A VISTA member’s progress is measured in
terms of achieving these set goals, but also and
ultimately by whether the sustainability outcome is
met.
Become
a VISTA Sponsor
Public, private, and faith-based nonprofit organizations-as well as local,
state and federal organizations-can benefit greatly from linking up with
AmeriCorps VISTA. Project sponsors are not required to provide a financial
match but must be able to direct the project, supervise the members, and
provide necessary administrative support to complete the goals and
objectives of the project.
